A train just like Switzerland itself. Red and white, as punctual as an expensive timepiece, garnished with a spectacular landscape and very particular people. On its way through Grisons, the Rhaetian Railway connects alpine passes, gorges, towns and engineering achievements, snow and palm trees – but especially the respective inhabitants and their stories. From the Buendner Chur, the rail route takes us through the mountain world of fashionable St. Moritz, passing by almost unreal yet picturesque railway stations and their “buffets” – or restaurants -, and finally across the Bernina Range, into the mild valleys of Italy. A route of such renown and beauty, that the UNESCO declared it a world heritage site.
