The Bay of Lübeck tends to be associated with sun, sandy beaches and a fresh breeze. Germany’s third largest Baltic Sea bay is rich in unique dune landscapes, rugged cliffs and bustling seaside resorts. But few people know that it is also home to some truly remarkable creatures, such as the otter, the Arctic tern, the wart-biter and the now endangered lapwing. The filmmakers travelled the length of the picturesque coast, from Fehmarn to Travemünde, to explore unspoiled landscapes, natural oases and an astonishing array of animal life.
