With this documentary, we embark on a journey through cultural history to encounter the idea of representation and re-enactment of paintings and sculptures with living people in a multi-perspective, varied, and investigative way. These living “frozen” still scenes are normally staged theatrically with costume, make-up, lighting, and props, thus combining aspects of both the performing and visual arts. Paintings, sculptures, and photographs from the entire history of art serve as models. With tableaux vivants, people enter a painting and a stage. Non-professionals become an integral part of a work of art. The democratization of art is finally taking place. Everyone is an artist. Everyone can be part of a work of art. Everyone can own art!
