The poet Ludwig Finckh called the range of volcanoes at Lake Constance “God’s game of skittles” (“Des Herrgotts Kegelspiel”). They were formed 15 million years ago, were home to the prehistoric horse “Hipparion”, and to Stone Age hunters, who used to hunt reindeer there. In medieval times, huge fortresses such as Hohentwiel sat atop the volcanoes. Today, a 3D animation from a first-person perspective shows what medieval life was like. And mountain bikers turned the area into a World Championship course. Overall, the film travels through more than 15.000 years.
