It was a long time ago when Turkey was a vacation paradise. The last season kept tourists away and seriously unsettled the local industry. In centers like Istanbul or Antalya, many operators and hotels complained about total cancellations. During the high season, in otherwise very busy streets or on packed beaches, it seemed as if it was winter. Now Turkey is preparing for the coming summer and hopes to make up for last year’s disastrous shortfall. However, the signs are not good.
