In Western Styria they breed the world-renowned Lipizzaner horses and make a unique wine, Schilcher, from the Blue Wildbach vine. But there are undiscovered corners to explore, too. Sweeping mountain pastures, unspoilt riverscapes, beautiful vineyard slopes and winemakers’ houses – that’s Western Styria. The coal mining dust is history. Today it is the white Lipizzaners and the Blue Wildbach vine that give the area its colour, life and energy.
