HER – Women In Asia Sr. 1 (2020)

This new DW series features Women in Asia – their lives, experiences, thoughts, views, perspectives and experiences. What challenges do they face? What links them? What distinguishes them? The topics are universal, existential and controversial. Each 15 minute filmed episode focuses on one topic featuring three women from different countries and different parts of society. For the first series, Women featured are from Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Taiwan. PIK produced the profiles from Malaysia and collaborated with Producer, Tikka Kusrachman to film profiles Indonesia. Here are the topics for Sr 1.

In Sr 2, Women from the Philippines and Thailand were added – we can’t wait for you to watch these brave Women who share their lives on screen. Ready for round three? HER continues this winter! Like in the first two seasons, HER 3 portrays the lives of women from all spheres of Asian societies, featuring protagonists from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. What challenges do women scientist face, what stories do female politicians have to tell, and what impact do migration and poverty have on women? Find out on HER – Women in Asia.

HER is back! Ready for round four? Like in the first three seasons, HER 4 portrays the lives of women from all spheres of Asian societies, featuring protagonists from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. In each episode, three women give their perspectives on their living conditions and other universal and crucial topics. 

 What challenges do they face in tech and AI? What stories do single moms have to tell? How do women cope with grief and how do they guard our nature? Find out on HER – Women in Asia.
