Criminal psychologist Annett Schuster and the criminal analyst Jan Kawig are on their first case together. A male body has been discovered near the Wartburg, hunched down in a prayer pose, but found in a fridge. The man was known as “Judge Merciless” at the state court of Erfurt, so investigators are looking into revenge as a motif. Annett Schuster finds religious symbols, referencing the “eye for an eye” citation from the bible. When a second body is discovered near an abandoned church, it becomes clear that the investigators are hunting a serial killer.
