His colorful fabric patterns are design classics, are still printed in large quantities today, and have been frequently plagiarized. His furniture is timeless. His importance for social housing cannot be overestimated. Josef Frank was born 140 years ago in Baden near Vienna. In 1933, he emigrated to Sweden, and Stockholm became his main place of work. To this day, the company Svenskt Tenn continues to produce his designs. One of his major architectural works is the Villa Beer in Vienna. The house, where Marcel Prawy also lived, was renovated after standing empty for many years and was reopened as a museum in 2025.
