Seasoning and pickling are old cultural techniques used not just to preserve vegetables, but also for personal “culinary pleasure”, in the most diverse variations. The film embarks on a journey of pleasure that tells the tale of regional sauerkraut, mustard, salt and gherkins, but also sweet-and-sour or hot mustard. The documentary visits production sites in Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Bavaria.
