Gerold works as a journalist and is a confirmed cynic. He spends his free time mostly with getting drunk – until he becomes unexpectedly responsible for the 14-year-old son of a friend. In addition, an anonymous well-wisher donates all of a sudden large sums of money to the charitable organization that Gerold’s newspaper articles are looking into.
