Hubert Scheibl, a native of Gmunden, Upper Austria, was a student of Max Weiler and Arnulf Rainer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. He was one of the “Neue Wilde” in the 1980s and has established himself as one of the most important artists of the country. Nothing short of nature and the cosmos are considered his most important sources of inspiration. The new documentary by Martin Traxl on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the versatile creative, is a cinematic attempt to approach an enigmatic and multifaceted work. It is about the essential questions and not about ultimate answers.
