“Christmas in Vienna” is an annual celebration of the festive season and an integral part of the run-up to Christmas in Austria’s capital city. The legendary Vienna Boys’ Choir and the Choir of the Vienna Konzerthaus are joined by international stars like the mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kožená, the tenor Jonathan Tetelman and the bass-baritone Erwin Schrott. The music for the classical and popular Christmas pieces is provided by the ORF Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Claire Levacher. The event is one of Vienna’s most popular during the Advent period and is not only a celebration of the season, but also of peaceful co-existence across the world.
