In 1821, the young Franz Schubert spent the summer in St. Pölten at the invitation of Bishop Nepomuk Ritter von Dankesreiter of St. Pölten, a great patron of the arts. In his summer residence Ochsenburg Schubert composed his only opera “Alfonso and Estrella”. The film tells the story of this unique romantic wild summer full of balmy nights with music and love.
