The New York conservator Christian Scheidemann is an “Art Whisperer”. Anyone concerned about the durability of his sculptures made of elephant dung or chewing gum, inevitably ends up in his studio. There, works of art, created by the most famous artists, await their treatment – today we have works by Warhol and Beuys, tomorrow by Paul McCarthy and Robert Gober. As if he were a compassionate doctor, Christian Scheidemann treats his patients after accidents – he accompanies them from the creation to total write-off and is therefore the key point of contact for artists, collectors and museums.
