A year at the renowned Austrian Ski Academy in the fictitious St. Geis, a school of international repute with graduates who regularly dominate professional skiing. But the road to the top is slippery – even off the slopes. Of the many international applicants, only ten teenagers are accepted at the school after a grueling admissions process: This year, along with five other young talents, Nikki, the sporty but undisciplined son of the school’s principal, Nawal, the focused racer from Switzerland, Luca, a young introvert from South Tyrol, Daniela, the local racing hopeful, and George, the quiet Munich native, make it. But this is just the beginning of their long journey. In their everyday school life, they not only face tough training, but also interpersonal challenges. Love and envy, loyalty and betrayal, ambition, and disappointment, success and failure are all closely tied together at the ski boarding school. A jungle of emotions between adrenaline rush on the slopes, ambitious parents, demanding teachers, financial pressure, public interest – and the deep longing for victory, love, and recognition.
