When a seasonal worker is murdered in the mountains beyond an alpine region, former witness protection officer Lukas Geier notices disturbing similarities to the past of a man to whom he once gave a new identity. As another murder occurs, the evidence mounts against his former protégé. However, Geier continues his covert investigation to prove the man’s innocence, racing against detective Franziska Conte and confronting the possibility that he might have saved the wrong person back then or is now overlooking the true motive. Ultimately, Geier and Conte join forces to prevent another murder.
