This documentary takes place in the spectacular mountain world of the Pitz and Ötztal Alps. From the imposing Wildspitze, the highest mountain in North Tyrol, on to the crystal clear Rifflsee. It is the highest mountain lake in Tyrol and the largest lake in the Ötztal Alps. Due to its beauty, the lake is not only popular with hikers, but also with bridal couples and is therefore used again and again as a wedding backdrop. A covenant for life is also sought by the ravens in the Tyrolean Oberland – once they have found their partner, they fly together for life. And ravens are not as sinister as they seem. Quite wrongly, they are considered unlucky birds or pests. In the south of Tyrol, we head for the Braies Valley, in the middle of the South Tyrolean Dolomites. At the head of the valley is the Pragser Wildsee lake, located at 1,500 meters above sea level – a protected natural monument. A bit further southeast is the village of Sappada. A German-speaking island in the Carnic Alps, which concludes with an insight into its culture and way of life.
