Germany´s Schorfheide is sparsely populated and little known. And yet, it offers a number of superlatives. It is home to Germany’s largest cohesive woodland, and is protected by the UNESCO. White-tailed eagles, ospreys, cranes and black storks thrive here, as do wolves. The nature reserve comprises a mosaic of marshes and more than 200 lakes, as well as the country’s largest continuous area dedicated to organic agriculture.
