In My Alaskan Journey, wildlife camerawoman Erin Ranney explores four unique areas of Alaska’s coast, revealing stunning landscapes and iconic wildlife along the way. Guided by Alaska’s history, her family’s stories, and her own memories, Erin’s journey weaves the past with the present, and paints a hopeful future for the land and wildlife of coastal Alaska.

Erin’s goal is to explore the lesser-known parts of Alaska, ones her family explored throughout their lives. Her first stop is on Kayak Island, a remote island that jets out into the Gulf of Alaska, where she explores what unique survival skills bears may have on this rugged landscape. She then ventures to Katalla, the now ghost town of a former booming city during the gold rush prime. Erin looks at how nature can reclaim, as Katalla was home to over 10,000 people and now is hidden away in the lush temperate rainforest. She heads to join the salmon runs in Bristol Bay for the peak fishing season. And the journey ends at her grandma’s secret cabin in the woods, with some exciting surprises along the way.

This story of adventure, family and wildlife will bring Alaska to the viewers in a way you have never experienced before and to places you have never seen before.
