During a demonstration in Vienna’s inner city, the police once again are hard at work attempting to de-escalate and bring an end to the protest when a young man is found dead at the edge of the road with his head in a pool of blood. The cause of death is not immediately evident. The investigators Moritz Eisner and Bibi Fellner arrive at the possible crime scene to find barely any trace evidence, few witnesses and a situation that allows for any number of suspects. Is there a chance that they may, for once, fail to find the perpetrator? Have the police used unnecessary force, as they are so often accused of? Potentially conclusive bodycam footage goes missing and the police officers initially refuse to cooperate with the internal investigation. Was the young man involved in a fatal confrontation, possibly with counter-protestors? Or did some conflict within the group the victim had been a member of for some time suddenly escalate?
