André Brauer is dead. The murder victim was the owner and head chef of the award-winning “Efeukron” restaurant but now seems to have ended up on the wrong end of his own kitchen knives. According to the restaurant’s manager and Brauer’s wife, Alicia, he had spent the previous evening with members of his kitchen crew, so the two detectives decide to pay a visit to the “Efeukron”. They arrive to find fists and pots flying, as the professional rivalry between the restaurant’s two cooks has reached boiling point. Sous chef Lars tries to calm things down. He has been particularly affected by Brauer’s death, as he saw him as a father figure and mentor. The investigators are drawn further and further into the toxic workplace atmosphere. Every staff member would appear to have a motive for the murder, from the dishwasher Bekim, who was fired under suspicious circumstances, to the pastry chef Lisa, who was sexually harassed by Brauer. When an affair between sous chef Lars and Brauer’s wife Alicia comes to light, the detectives believe they have cracked the case. But it proves to be just another twist in a complex investigation…
