In the midst of the rugged beauty of the mountains, a few idealists defy the wind, weather – and the wolf. This new “Land of the Mountains” documentary follows modern shepherds like Anna, who every summer retreats with her sheep into the solitude of the mountains, as well as hunters, organic farmers, and conservationists, all trying in their own way to restore an ancient balance: that between humans, animals, and wilderness. Between traditional shepherding, impressive nature, and the return of the great predators, the film tells of courage, dedication, and the search for new ways to live with the wolf.
