An apparently happily married wife and mother is found stabbed to death in a hotel. The case throws up a number of questions, but evidence found on the victim’s arm leads the investigator Franziska Conte to the musician and former policeman Lukas Geier. Geier denies having anything to do with the crime but embarks on his own surreptitious investigation. He was once a witness protection officer and helped to provide the dead woman with a new identity. Clearly, her cover was blown. The investigators find themselves tangled in a complicated web of secrets and unexpected twists and turns.
